RVUTA was one of the first unions in Sonoma County to ratify an MOU that clearly outlines conditions and agreements that will brings students back to classrooms.
We are proud of this work.
We were commended on our partnership with the district team at the board meeting on Tuesday 2/9/21.

3 Days later our Negotiations team went back to the bargaining table to resume regular contract negotiations.
We waited MONTHS for the district to make their counterproposals.
THE DISTRICT PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED A PROJECTED 3.84% COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) TO DISTRICT BUDGET FOR NEXT YEAR.
And RVUSD countered with:
ZERO PERCENT for raises for teachers (despite the 3.84% PROJECTED COLA they will be getting from the state)
REFUSAL of ALL our requested improvements for staff and students including:
Prep time for lesson planning
NO MENTION of our proposals for SPECIAL EDUCATION that will directly affect student learning conditions.
Our district sent out an 4-page document to every parent in our community that framed the teachers of Rincon Valley as being unreasonable and unwilling to negotiate.
This is simply untrue.
We are working harder than ever before and have done nothing but work in collaboration this year to ensure students can come back into the classroom as soon as it is safe to do so.
Please contact your local school board representatives and encourage them to do what is right by teachers and to support the students of today with the dollars of today!
